Gray for May

I'm far too late in posting this, but May is Brain Cancer awareness month. The color is gray, as in gray matter. I tend to think brain cancer is rather underreported. Of course, I'm biased. That said, cancer is the leading cause of death of children under the age of 14 and pediatric brain cancer is the leading cause of death from cancer in children. Approximately 4200 children are diagnosed with a brain tumor each year. If you have time this month, tell someone about it.

  3. Kara...yesterday was the Breakthrough for Brain Tumors 5k in Chicago. I had emailed you a few months back and asked if we could put James name on our shirts.. Judi's Jems. My son was the top fundraiser for the whole event raising $13,916.00! We hope we made you proud and that my mom who passed from glioblastoma after a 48 day diagnosis was siting with James watching over us in the pouring rain yesterday! Much love to you on this toughest of first Mothers days without our loved ones!

  4. Just wanted you to know that I'm still following your story and praying for your family. I'm a more patient and present mother to my girls now than I ever would have been if I wasn't allowed to walk alongside the two of you, and learn about James. James has a very special place in our family.
    Thank you.
